What is the ruling on striking the nape of the neck?

It is impermissible to strike the back of the neck or any other body part without just cause, for it is an act of injustice, and Allah Almighty has forbidden injustice. However, striking the back of the neck with just cause, such as in the case of legal retribution (qisas), is permissible.
