How does one make up a missed prayer due to the absence of water?

There is no specific method for making up prayers due to the absence of water; their make-up does not differ from making up other prayers. Performing prayer is not precluded by the absence of water. For one upon whom prayer is obligatory, who does not find water, and has made efforts to seek it, and fears the expiration of the time, it is permissible for him to perform tayammum (definition). Whoever did not pray due to the absence of water must make up the prayers he missed.
