Will the believers' vision of Allah in Paradise be only once, or at all times, or every Friday?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The People of the Sunnah and the Community believe that believers will see their Lord on the Day of Resurrection and in Paradise, and this is the greatest bliss. The people of Paradise will have a gathering on Friday, in which they will enjoy seeing the Noble Face of Allah. It is narrated in a hadith that Gabriel informed the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that Friday is called the Day of Increase (Yawm al-Mazeed), as the Lord manifests Himself to the people of Paradise, and they increase in beauty and handsomeness. The Companions, such such as Ibn Mas'ud, spoke about this based on what they received from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and not from the People of the Book. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds that the reason for the increase in beauty and handsomeness in the market of Paradise is the sight of Allah Almighty, and that the seeing of women depends on their Eid celebrations in the worldly life. Although the sight of Allah occurs every Friday, it does not preclude some from seeing Him at other times, but this depends on the existence of Sharia evidence.
