Is it confirmed that the believers will see their Lord in the Hereafter?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Qur’an and Sunnah affirm the vision of Allah the Almighty in Paradise. From the Qur’an are the verses: ﴿[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, Looking at their Lord.﴾ (Qur’an 75:22-23), and His saying: ﴿They will have therein whatever they wish, and with Us is more.﴾ (Qur’an 50:35), where "more" (mazeed) has been interpreted as gazing upon the Face of Allah. Also, His saying: ﴿For those who have done good is the best [reward] and extra.﴾ (Qur’an 10:26), and the Prophet interpreted "extra" (ziyadah) as gazing upon the Face of Allah. From the Sunnah, there are many hadiths, among them the hadith of Abu Hurairah and Jarir ibn Abdullah Al-Bajali, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the people asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" He likened the vision to seeing the moon on a full-moon night and the sun when there are no clouds obscuring it, explaining that it will be a clear vision without difficulty.
