How does a young man deal with a girl's rejection of him after her initial agreement to marry, especially when she uses the excuse that he is "like her brother," knowing that he cannot give up on her and his intentions were sincere?

The questioner is advised not to be attached to the girl, and to adhere to the limits of Allah, so he should not look at her or be alone with her. He must believe in divine decree and destiny, and try to convince the girl to marry through mahram (definition) relatives, explaining to her that love is acquired after marriage, and that there is no contradiction between the love of respect and affection and marriage. He must look into the woman's religiosity and character, and if she is not religious, he should not be keen on her. He must perform Istikhara and consult before proceeding with any matter.
