Is the public's opinion that the education of girls in mixed-gender universities is forbidden (haram)? And does the ruling differ if she is married, or if her husband accompanies her daily to the university?

The fundamental principle is that it is impermissible for unrelated men and women to intermingle due to the evils that result from it. However, if a Muslim woman cannot find a non-mixed environment and is in need of education or work, she may study in a mixed environment, provided that she observes complete hijab, without wearing perfume or adorning herself, and that she avoids sitting next to men or speaking with them unnecessarily and without softening her voice. She must also maintain constant vigilance and be mindful of Allah the Almighty. If these conditions are met, there is no objection to studying in such universities. If her husband accompanies her, that would be even better.
