Biographical texts recount that a man from Irash came to Mecca, and Abu Jahl bought camels from him but withheld their price. The Irashi man sought help from the Quraysh, who mockingly advised him to go to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. When the Irashi man asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for his right from Abu Jahl, the Prophet went with him to Abu Jahl. When Abu Jahl came out to him, his color changed, the Prophet commanded him to give the Irashi man his due, and Abu Jahl did so. When Abu Jahl was asked about the reason for his compliance, he mentioned that he saw a male camel above the head of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and that if he had refused, it would have devoured him.
