A father does not have the right to prevent his son from traveling to his wife and children. The son is not considered disobedient (aqq) for disobeying his father in this matter, for obedience to parents is in what is good and not in what harms the son or causes him to neglect the rights of his wife and children. Nevertheless, the son must continue to honor his father and be kind to him. This matter has its regulations, and the husband's absence from his wife should not exceed six months without an excuse.
