Is the daughter considered sinful or negligent towards her father who divorced her mother and left the home, neither calling nor visiting them, while he is kind, affectionate, and generous with others, and is there anything that can be done about that?

Filial piety towards parents is among the most obligatory duties, and disobeying them is among the greatest sins. Their right does not diminish, no matter how much they might mistreat one or if they are polytheists. The command to "accompany them in the world with kindness" (Quran 31:15) came even concerning polytheist parents who enjoin polytheism. Therefore, no matter how bad or estranged a father may be, a child must show him piety to the best of their ability. Piety includes delivering as much good as possible and warding off as much harm as possible. If a daughter visits her father to an extent that she is not considered a severer of ties, and does not withhold from him money or care that she is capable of providing, then she is not sinful. Continuing to visit, inquire about, and contact him, and fulfilling his needs, seeking the pleasure of Allah, brings the blessing of piety, the satisfaction of Allah, and Paradise. For the Lord's pleasure is in the father's pleasure, and the father is the middle gate of Paradise.
