Does the daughter bear a sin for distancing herself from her father who abandoned her when she was two months old, does not pray, utters vile language, asks her to leave her husband, fabricates problems, and does not acknowledge Muslim rituals or anyone's kindness?

One must be kind to parents and dutiful towards them, and not abandon or shun them, even if the father treats one harshly or did not care for his son; because Allah Almighty says: {And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And to parents, show goodness.} If the father denies the obligation of prayer, he is an infidel, but being dutiful and kind to him is obligatory; because Allah Almighty says: {And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them.} One must strive against oneself to be kind to the father, treat him gently, and pray for his guidance. However, if the father does not deny the obligation of prayer but sometimes abandons it, he is in grave danger, but he is not judged as an infidel according to the majority of scholars. It is not permissible to obey the father in demanding a divorce from the husband without a legitimate reason; because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Any woman who asks her husband for a divorce, the scent of Paradise is forbidden to her." It is permissible to distance oneself from the father if it does not involve cutting ties and no one is harmed by it.
