What is the ruling on attending non-Islamic wedding parties, taking into account social pressures and preserving the principles of Islamic upbringing for children?
It is not permissible to attend events that include forbidden acts such as unlawful singing. One must submit to the ruling of the , not to emotions. "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out" (Quran 65:2). And whoever seeks Allah's pleasure, even if it displeases people, Allah will suffice him against their harm. It is possible to participate in events when they are free of forbidden acts, or by being in a place where the forbidden act is neither seen nor heard. Children must be raised on virtue, for they are a trust, and their hearts are receptive to every engraving. If they are accustomed to good, they will grow up upon it. If they grow older and this age has passed, then one should deal with them gently and try to influence them with good company and wholesome alternatives, along with frequent supplication for their guidance and righteousness, for a parent's supplication for their child is answered.
