What is the ruling on attending weddings that include singing, while disliking it in one's heart, and there being social pressure to attend, and an inability to remain firm in avoiding them?

One must refrain from attending wedding celebrations that include forbidden acts, even if people become angry, while explaining that such acts do not please Allah and that gratitude for the blessing of marriage is shown through obedience to Allah, not disobedience. For whoever pleases Allah by incurring the displeasure of people, Allah will be pleased with them. It is also necessary to beware of being lenient with minor sins, for persistence in them turns them into major sins, and they may destroy their perpetrator just as major sins do. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Beware of minor sins, for they accumulate upon a person until they destroy him."
