Legitimate involves placing the hand on the site of pain and reciting Al-Fatiha, Ayat Al-Kursi, Al-, Al-Mu'awwidhatayn (Al-Falaq and An-Nas), the concluding verses of Surat Al-Baqarah, verses for invalidating magic, and the established prophetic supplications. These verses can also be recited into oil and water for bathing, drinking, and anointing.
