What is the meaning of the Hadith: "You will be mobilized into armies: an army in Sham (Greater Syria), an army in Iraq, and an army in Yemen"?
The narrated by Abu Dawud, Ahmad, Ibn Hibban, Al-Hakim, and Al-Bayhaqi from Abdullah ibn Hawalah mentions that affairs will eventually devolve into organized armies in: Syria, Yemen, and Iraq. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, recommended [emigrating to] Syria when this occurs, because it is "Allah's chosen land, to which He gathers His choicest servants." If that is not possible, then they should go to Yemen and drink from their ponds. The hadith has been described as very authentic, and some of its terms, such as "kharra li" (He singled out for me), "khiratu Allah" (Allah's choicest), "ghadarkum" (your ponds/treachery), and "tawakkal li bi ash-Sham" (rely on me for Syria), have been interpreted.
