Is it permissible to supplicate against parents, brothers, and sisters when subjected to injustice by them?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

You are obligated to treat your parents with kindness, righteousness, and good companionship. It is not permissible to be disobedient to them or to treat them poorly. Praying against them is one of the severest forms of disobedience and ill-treatment. Therefore, you are not permitted to do so; rather, you must pray for them. As for your brothers and sisters, we advise you to be patient with any injustice you experience from them, and to pardon and forgive. However, it is permissible for you to pray against an oppressor among them to the extent of the injustice, and no more. Yet, if you are patient, it is better for you.
