Who is considered the Amir of the Muslims now?

The position of the Grand Imamate is exalted, and it has conditions, including: Islam, maturity, sanity, masculinity, knowledge, justice, and being from the Quraysh. Some of these conditions are overlooked when a ruler seizes power through conquest and coercion, in order to preserve lives and prevent strife. The jurists have unanimously agreed on the obligation to obey the conquering ruler and to wage jihad with him, as long as he does not demonstrate clear disbelief.

It is not permissible to have multiple imams at the same time according to the majority of Muslims. However, some have permitted multiplicity if the regions are far apart, such as Andalusia and Khorasan. Muslims today strive for unity.
