Is it permissible to wash the feet over the socks during Wudu'? And is it considered a complete Wudu' and acceptable for prayer? And does it prevent the feet from touching the Fire?

Wiping over socks during ablution is permissible and serves as a substitute for washing the feet. It constitutes a complete ablution, entailing the same rewards and recompense as a full ablution. A condition for wiping is that the socks must be put on while in a state of complete ritual purity. It is permissible to wipe over thin or torn socks.

A warning has been issued for those who do not thoroughly wash their feet during ablution, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Woe to the heels from the Fire." This applies to those who wash their feet but do not complete their washing, not to those who wipe over their leather slippers (khuffain) or socks.
