The answer

Exposing a woman for inspection is a great crime and an enormous evil, whether the inspection is by a woman – for it is not permissible for a woman to see another woman's 'awrah except out of necessity for medical treatment – or by a man. It is a major calamity. If a Muslim woman finds another job, or if she is provided for by the sustenance of a husband or a relative, it is not permissible for her to continue in this work which degrades her dignity and exposes her 'awrah. A woman must search for another job or for a husband who will support her, and her relatives must provide for her sustenance. Muslims must cooperate and show solidarity to preserve the honor of their believing sisters, for the believer to the believer is like a structure, each part strengthening the other, and the believers in their mutual love and compassion are like one body.
