Is it sinful for a supplicant to pray that a specific young man be her destined partner, knowing he is engaged to another girl and that there are problems between them?

If a man is religious and of good character, Islamic law encourages marriage to him, as stated in the Prophet's (PBUH) saying: "If someone whose religion and character you approve comes to you seeking marriage, then marry him." The encouragement for marriage between those who love each other is further emphasized by the Prophet's (PBUH) saying: "We have not seen anything better for two who love each other than marriage." It is permissible to supplicate for this man to be the woman's husband, even if he is engaged or married, because Islamic law permits him to marry up to four women.
