The answer

It is recommended to maintain the morning and evening adhkar (remembrances), to ask Allah for well-being, and to recite the Qur’an, particularly Surat Al- and the two Mu'awwidhatayn (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas) three times in the morning and evening, for the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Say: 'He is Allah, [who is] One,' and the two Mu'awwidhatayn when you enter the evening and when you enter the morning, three times, they will suffice you against everything."

Supplication benefits against what has befallen and what has not yet befallen. It is also recommended to consistently perform four rak'ahs (units of prayer) at the beginning of the day, as Allah said in a Qudsi: "O son of Adam, pray four rak'ahs for Me at the beginning of the day, and I shall suffice you for its latter part."

It is further recommended to repeat: "Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne" seven times in the morning and evening, for whoever says it, Allah will suffice him concerning whatever worries him.

As for the reason for the dream, we know nothing about it.
