Is a relationship between a 21-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl, which began with love, forbidden in Sharia, given the fear of falling into the unlawful, and should one distance oneself from it?

It is permissible, from a Sharia perspective, to take a young man as a friend and to love him in principle. However, this love must be regulated by the legitimate Islamic controls to avoid falling into forbidden adoration and its dire consequences. If one fears that the matter will transgress the Sharia, then they must distance themselves to block the means (to sin) and to seek the safety of their religion and honor.
