Is what we do correct, praying the two rak'ahs of the Friday obligatory prayer, then the Imam turns around and we all supplicate?

A believer must follow the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Imam's supplication after the obligatory prayer and the congregants' "Ameen" is a reprehensible innovation, because neither the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) nor any of his companions did it. Had it been good, they would have preceded us to it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, every innovation is a misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire." He also said: "Whoever performs an action that is not in accordance with our matter, it will be rejected." Therefore, it is obligatory to abandon this innovation and to adhere to the remembrances and supplications reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) after the prayer. Whoever wishes to supplicate should do so silently.
