A Muslim is commanded to prostrate on the forehead during prayer. This is done by placing the forehead—which is between the eyebrows and the hairline—along with the nose. Prostrating on the side of the forehead (al-jabeen) does not validate the prayer. However, prostrating on a part of the forehead is permissible, though disliked.
