Pictures on a mobile phone or computer, and video clips, do not take the ruling of photographic images due to their impermanence. It is permissible to keep them unless they are forbidden. However, the image of a deceased person should not be made a wallpaper for a mobile phone or messenger, as this may renew grief or lead to excessive veneration. Furthermore, the phone may be subjected to disrespect by entering impure places.
