Is it permissible for a woman to remove excess hair from her eyebrows and tidy them – without thinning them – to avoid psychological distress and marital problems?

Cleaning the eyebrow by removing some of its hair is considered namṣ (plucking) and is cursed in Islam for both the one who does it and the one for whom it is done. However, if the density of the eyebrow reaches a level of disfigurement that is beyond the usual, it is permissible to lighten it to the extent that removes this disfigurement. A husband should treat his wife with kindness and goodness, for it is not characteristic of the virtuous to mock their wives.
