Is it authentically reported that Ibn ʿUmar said, concerning the monk about whom it was said that he was insulting the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "If I had heard him, I would have killed him; we did not grant them protection on the condition that they insult our Prophet"?

Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned the narration in his book Ahkam Ahl al-Dhimmah, citing al-Khallal in his Jami‘, that Ibn ‘Umar said regarding a monk who insulted the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Had I heard him, I would have killed him. We did not grant them dhimmah on the condition that they insult our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him." In this narration, there is an unnamed narrator. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned in al-Sarim al-Maslul that Ibn ‘Umar drew his sword against a monk who insulted the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "We did not make peace with them on the condition that they insult the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him." The two narrations can be reconciled by understanding that Ibn ‘Umar drew his sword against him, and when the monk denied it, Ibn ‘Umar refrained, saying: "Had I heard him, I would have killed him."
