What is the meaning of the two verses: "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do" (An-Nahl/97), and His saying, "But for he who fears the standing before his Lord will be two Gardens" (Ar-Rahman/46), and what is their relation to sustenance, and how can good sustenance be benefited from through reliance (tawakkul), certainty (yaqeen), and good presumption of Allah, and their relation to receiving glad tidings?

A good life in this world includes the heart's life through faith, the expansion of the chest (inner peace), and abundant lawful provision, as well as contentment and satisfaction. Its cause is righteous deeds, reliance on Allah, and fearing Him. As for the verse, "But for he who fears the standing before his Lord, there will be two Gardens," its meaning is that whoever fears standing before Allah on the Day of Judgment, and therefore performs the commands and avoids the prohibitions, his reward will be two Gardens in the Hereafter.
