The majority opinion is that the minimum period for menstruation is one day and one night. This blood is not considered menstrual blood unless its total duration reaches one day and one night during the time it is possible [for menstruation to occur]. In this case, the woman must fast and pray. One can rely on a doctor's opinion if there are no signs of menstruation or if the bleeding does not occur during the typical time of menstruation.
