How many expiations are required for someone who swore multiple times, using different formulations, that he would not send WhatsApp messages to a specific person, and now wishes to revoke his oath?

If someone swears not to do something or to do it, and then swears not to break that oath, then if they break it, two expiations (kaffarat) are due: one for breaking their original oath, and the other for swearing not to break it. This is the view of the majority of jurists. As for the Hanbali school of thought, it holds that if one takes multiple oaths and then breaks them before expiating, only one expiation is due. One should avoid excessive swearing, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not obey every [habitual] swearer, a disdained."
