What is the ruling on a son honoring his cruel father who expelled him from the house and prevented him from seeing his family? And is the son's aversion to this father considered disobedience (uquq)? And what is the ruling on the mother's attempt to see her son secretly without the father's knowledge, and is that considered betrayal of her husband?

What this man is doing with his children and wife contradicts Islamic law and good morals. He must fear Allah and not separate a woman from her child. The children should be resolute and righteous, and not be negatively affected by what is happening. They must preserve their father's right, even if he neglects it. The father does not have the right to prevent his children from studying the specialization they desire. The man must fear Allah regarding his daughters, facilitate their marriage, and seek righteous husbands for them, offering them [his daughters], just as Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) did with his daughter Hafsa.
