Is it permissible for a husband to practice coitus interruptus with his wife throughout the month, except during her ovulation days, or to refrain from intercourse under the pretext that coitus interruptus gives him greater pleasure, given his wife's awareness of the hadith: "He should not practice coitus interruptus with a free woman unless with her permission"?

A husband is not permitted to give his wife the choice between abstaining from intercourse except during ovulation periods, or engaging in intercourse with coitus interruptus (withdrawal). This is because such a choice does not fall under "living together in kindness" (al-mu'asharah bil-ma'ruf). Furthermore, intercourse with coitus interruptus requires the wife's permission and consent, according to the majority of scholars, because the wife has a right to have children. Therefore, the husband must fear Allah concerning his wife and live with her in kindness. The wife, in turn, should engage in calm dialogue with her husband to explain the religious ruling.
