Is a wife entitled to seek divorce due to her husband's preoccupation with work? And what is the ruling on a divorced woman marrying someone she loved after her divorce from her husband?
A husband is obligated to treat his wife kindly. If his treatment is poor, divorce is not permissible unless there is an unbearable harm. A Khul' divorce (divorce at the instance of the wife) is an option if she dislikes continuing the marriage and fears she might fail in fulfilling his rights. However, it is not advisable to rush into divorce or Khul'. Instead, one should be patient, pray for his rectification, and seek the help of close relatives to advise him.
As for the friend, she must cut off her relationship with the strange man and repent to Allah. If her husband leaves her, she is permitted to marry someone else.
One must be careful not to engage in incitement (takhbib) and corrupt a woman against her husband.
