Do these events (work emergencies and the father's death) indicate something after performing Istikhara prayer regarding a career change?

Istikharah is not intended to seek knowledge of the unseen, but rather to ask Allah for what is good and to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet. The person performing Istikharah should rely on Allah, supplicate frequently, and consult righteous people. If their heart is inclined towards one of the two matters, or if its means become easy, then they should proceed with it, relying on Allah. What Allah decrees after a correct Istikharah is what is good. Obstacles may not be an indication for either of them, but the difficulty of one matter might be an indication that its opposite is better. Istikharah can be repeated, and one should strive in supplication. Whatever the heart then inclines towards is what is good.
