What is the ruling on maintaining ties of kinship with, visiting, and sitting with an apostate, what are the limits of that, and is he treated as an apostate if the proof has not been established against him?

An apostate is someone who leaves Islam for disbelief, whether by word, deed, omission, or belief. A Muslim may be excused due to ignorance, misinterpretation, duress, or error. However, certain types of apostasy, such as slandering Allah or His Messenger, or atheism, do not excuse the perpetrator. If the apostasy of a relative is confirmed, one must disavow them, and it is forbidden to befriend or love them. It is obligatory to advise them and invite them to Allah. It is permissible to visit and sit with them for the purpose of inviting them [to Islam] for those who are capable of doing so, and it is permissible to maintain ties with them through gifts to incline them towards repentance. They should be shunned and boycotted if they persist in their error, provided there is a benefit in doing so. An apostate is detested by Allah, and by their apostasy, they have forfeited their sanctity and rights over Muslims.
