Is it permissible for a widow to work in a bank to support an orphaned child?

It is permissible for a widow to work in a bank if the Sharia-compliant controls are met, such as the bank being Islamic and there being no forbidden mixing [between genders]. If the bank is usurious, it is not permissible to work in it except out of dire necessity, which is estimated according to its extent, and it must be left once the necessity ceases. A Muslim should turn to Allah and ask Him of His bounty.
