Is religion a logical thing?

Islam is the religion of fitra (innate disposition) and does not contradict sound reason. What the messengers convey is not deemed impossible by the intellect, but rather falls into two categories: that which is affirmed by intellect and fitra, and that which the intellect alone cannot grasp, yet it is not inherently impossible for it. Islamic rulings are in harmony with reason. For example, the legislation of qisas (retaliation in kind) is consistent with sound reason, which was acknowledged even by the polytheists before Islam. Furthermore, modern science has come to prove the benefits of many Islamic legislations. This is evidence that religion does not contradict reason, which bases its judgments on truth and reality.
