Sitting with people of knowledge is important for learning manners and conduct, not just knowledge, as narrated from Ibn al-Mubarak and Malik. Restricting oneself to visual and audio media has led to a moral decline among some students of knowledge, because direct seeking from the shaykh is better for learning guidance and manners. It is best for the student to combine both approaches to achieve goodness and perfection.
