Is it permissible to describe cancer as a "malignant disease"?

Describing cancer as "malignant" (al-khabīth) is permissible if the intention behind the word is to describe the spread and harm of the disease, in contrast to "benign" (al-ḥamīd). However, it is preferable to use other words out of politeness. This description is disliked if the intention is to revile, because diseases are a divine decree from Allah and expiate sins. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade reviling fever. The afflicted person must be patient and seek reward from Allah, and it is impermissible to revile any disease.
