The answer

It is advised to stop thinking about the matter, and to abandon the whispers (waswasah) and yielding to Satan, along with having a good opinion of Allah Almighty, trusting His promise, and believing in the benefit of remembrance () and seeking protection through it. If one performs the prescribed remembrance, there is no harm in increasing it and doing a lot of it, as long as this increase is not believed to be (a prophetic tradition).
