Does not frequently remembering Allah, while performing all other religious obligations, make a Muslim a hypocrite? And does everyone who remembers Allah little fall under the description of the hypocrites mentioned in His, the Almighty’s, saying: "and they do not remember Allah except a little"?

Remembrance (dhikr) is beloved and desirable in all circumstances. It may be obligatory, such as the opening takbir (takbirat al-ihram) in prayer, or it may be recommended. In specific cases, it may even be forbidden. A believer is never disengaged from the remembrance of Allah in their prayers and daily life, whereas hypocrites remember Allah only a little, out of show-off and laziness, as Allah Almighty says: (Indeed, the hypocrites [think to] deceive Allah, but He is deceiving them. And when they stand for prayer, they stand lazily, showing [off] to the people and not remembering Allah except a little) (An-Nisa/142). The benefits of remembrance are immense, including the tranquility of the heart and the attainment of great rewards through simple deeds. For example, "Two words are light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, beloved to the Most Merciful: Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi, Subhan Allah al-Azim (Glory be to Allah and with His praise, Glory be to Allah the Almighty)."
