There are narrations stating that Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, carried the gate of Khaybar and used it as a shield. However, these narrations are not authentic due to their inclusion of discontinuity (in ), unknown narrators, and weakness. A number of scholars, including Al-Dhahabi, Ibn Kathir, Al-Sakhawi, and Ibn Taymiyyah, have rejected these narrations. This, however, does not negate Ali's bravery and strength, which have been proven in other instances.
