What was the reason for Aisha's fighting Ali ibn Abi Talib in the Battle of the Camel, and which of them was in the right?

The hadith: "I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate" has been judged by hadith imams as weak or fabricated, among them Al-Bukhari, Ibn Ma'in, Ibn Taymiyyah, and Al-Albani. It is not sound in its chain of narration (sanad) or its text (matn). This does not diminish the status of Ali ibn Abi Talib.
