Is buying a house with a bank loan that includes an additional commission on the loan amount permissible (halal) or forbidden (haram)?

The aforementioned transaction is impermissible because it is an explicit usurious loan. Usury is among the gravest of prohibitions, and Allah has threatened those who engage in it with war, as He says: "O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of usury, if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal – [thus] you do not wrong, nor are you wronged." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who gives it, its scribe, and its two witnesses. There are many lawful ways and alternatives. And whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out, and no one abandases anything for the sake of Allah except that Allah replaces it with something better. Do not be impatient concerning provision, and be moderate in seeking it by taking what is lawful and forsaking what is unlawful.
