What is the ruling on water dripping from the faucet all night due to a malfunction in it, and will a person be held accountable for this waste?

Wasting and squandering money is blameworthy in Islamic law. If the faucet can be repaired, it must be repaired. Leaving water to flow when it is possible to stop it is considered a waste of money, and a person will be held accountable for it. However, if the faucet cannot be repaired, a person will not be held accountable for the dripping water.
