What is the ruling on water that splashes back during cleansing after urination?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
Water that splatters while cleaning oneself after urination is not considered impure, because in most cases it is after the urine has stopped. Therefore, the prevailing characteristic is that of pure water, which is only affected by what changes its color, taste, or smell. The Muslim should act upon certainty and strong presumption, and abandon whispers (waswasa).
