Is changing one's nationality and country in online chats, out of dislike, actually considered lying?
The basic ruling concerning lying is that it is forbidden. Lying is to inform contrary to reality. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, detested it, and lying leads to the Fire. The questioner should not disclose his country to avoid lying.
This affiliation with foreign countries and feeling at ease with them involves শরয়ী (Islamic legal) prohibitions and a weakening of belonging to the Islamic Ummah. It results in a weakening of loyalty and disavowal. The original ruling concerning naturalization with the nationalities of these countries is prohibition, except out of necessity or a preponderant শরয়ী (Islamic legal) interest.
