Is the prohibition established if a child is nursed after weaning and before reaching two years of age?

The Mahram-inducing (prohibitory) suckling is that which occurs within the first two years (of the child's life), whether it was preceded by weaning or not, because milk within these two years causes flesh to grow and bones to strengthen. This is the view of the Shafi'is, the Hanbalis, and Abu Yusuf and Muhammad from the Hanafis. As for the Malikis, they hold that if a child is weaned within the first two years and becomes clearly self-sufficient by eating solid food for two days or more, and then is suckled, this suckling does not render (marriage) prohibited. The most authoritative (rajih) opinion is the first one.
