Do the good deeds of one who violates Allah's prohibitions vanish if he repents, or is what is meant one who dies in that state without repentance?

The aforementioned Hadith about those who outwardly feign righteousness before people, but when alone, openly defy Allah with sins, as if they deem Allah the least significant of those who observe them. Malik bin Dinar described this act as hypocrisy. These people did not observe Allah nor feared Him as they observed and feared people, in fulfillment of Allah's statement: "They seek to hide from people and do not seek to hide from Allah, and He is with them when they plot by night that which displeases [Him]. And ever is Allah, of what they do, encompassing." As for those for whom this was not their characteristic, or who repented from their sin before their death, their good deeds will not be lost. Indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good, and He accepts the repentance of those who repent and transforms their bad deeds into good deeds if their repentance is sincere, in fulfillment of Allah's statement: "And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons misdeeds" and "Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful."
