What is the ruling on one who says that Saul intended to fight David out of hatred for him, and that David humiliated Saul?

David is a noble prophet, and Saul (Talut) was a servant chosen by God to rule the Children of Israel. It is presumed that such a righteous king would not commit the acts mentioned by chroniclers in the Israelite traditions. Ibn Kathir mentioned the story of Saul's envy of David after David killed Goliath, and Saul's attempts to kill him, and his killing of the scholars who forbade him from doing so. Then Ibn Kathir said about this story: "And in some of this there is doubt and denunciation."
