No special virtue has been reported concerning cleaning the mosque. However, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded that mosques be cleaned and perfumed, and the one who does so will be rewarded for it, as indicated by the hadith of the black man or woman who used to clean the mosque and for whom the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed. It is sufficient for a Muslim to obey the command of Allah and His Messenger. As for the hadith: "Sweeping mosques is the dowry of the wide-eyed houris," it is weak.
